Cybersecurity is my main career choice, with an emphasis on IAM. If you are unfamiliar with IAM, it stands for Identity and Access Management, which basically means you monitor and dictate who is allowed on a network. I like the idea of being the one who is on the front line of security in terms of who is on the network.
With the rise of AI scammers can generate code that can be used for anything from scams to full on attacks on a person or entity. This means that the IAM personal have to evolve with the new threats that are headed their way, "Zero-Day" attacks. I am currently in the middle of my coding journey and have about 5 months of certificate and book reading expertise under my belt. I will continue this journey until I am ready to work a full-time job as a cybersecurity analyst. This is a lot harder then it sounds for me.
I am a victim of a life threatening mental illness that will be at me for the entirety of my life. Luckily I have a good support group that is assisting in my journey. Plenty of people with this illness have made it as far as the top levels of Microsoft, so I know its possible. With my will to feel good and make a difference, which may not show as much now, I will get to who and where I was before I was diagnosed. With the proper lifestyle I will be able to do this.
